Afghanistan News Update: In a Current Afghanistan view:  taliban asked if there will be a

place for women in new government

In a latest update Taliban official has been asked if women and ethnic minorities will have a

place in the new Afghan government.

The Taliban have asked working women to stay at home in Afghanistan until proper security

system is in place.

Zabihullah Mujahid told reporters in Kabul on Tuesday the Taliban were working on

procedures for female government workers to return to their jobs but that for now, they should

stay home for "security" reasons.

In an interview with Inayatulhaq Yasini, the deputy head of the Taliban political office in Qatar

said women could continue in their work but in the top posts or cabinet there "may not" be a

woman.

The Taliban are expected to form a new government in the coming days but questions

remain about what their rule will look like and mean for Afghanistan.
