Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath said that Lord Dhanvantari is considered the father of Ayurveda and the God of health. Today is the holy birth anniversary of Lord Dhanvantari. We also celebrate this day as Dhanteras. On the holy birth anniversary of the God of health, we are joining the 'Run for Unity' event before the holy birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the architect of independent India. Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel played an important role in giving the present form of Akhand Bharat in the year 1947. These festivals, celebrations and birth anniversaries of great men inspire us to move forward with new spirit.
The Chief Minister was expressing his views at a program organized on the occasion of the launch of Freedom Run (Run for Unity) dedicated to Ek Bharat-Shrestha Bharat on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the great freedom fighter, Iron Man, Bharat Ratna Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel at his official residence today. On this occasion, the Chief Minister administered the oath of National Unity Day to everyone. He flagged off the Run for Unity. It is noteworthy that Run for Unity was organised from Kalidas Marg to K.D. Singh Babu Stadium.
The Chief Minister said that this programme was proposed on 31st October, but due to Diwali being celebrated on that day, this race has been organised 02 days earlier. This year the importance of National Unity Day is even more, when the whole country is entering the 150th birth anniversary year of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel. The programmes of the 150th birth anniversary of the Iron Man will be organised in different forms throughout the year from 31 October 2024 to 31 October 2025 in the country and the state.
The Chief Minister congratulated the people of the state on all the festivals to be organised till Lord Dhanvantari Jayanti, Dhanteras, Diwali and Chhath. He paid his humble tribute by paying homage to the memories of Iron Man Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel on the occasion of the beginning of his 150th birth anniversary year from 31st October.
